Description
Communicating research to stakeholders is an increasingly important role for researchers.
Scientell conducted two half-day science communication workshops at SVI for PhD students, early career researchers, and research professionals. The workshops aimed to enhance participants’ science communication skills, helping them develop and deliver presentations that effectively conveyed the narrative of their research. The sessions also provided practical strategies for addressing challenging questions.
The training was interactive and hands-on, featuring a variety of workshop activities designed to refine communication, presentation, and public speaking abilities. Participants engaged in discussions about theory, learned essential concepts and tools, and received personalised feedback to support their development.
Participants had the opportunity to record a 1-minute elevator pitch about their research at the end of the session and received constructive feedback from their peers and Scientell staff. This approach allowed attendees to practice and improve their communication skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
