Scientell provided a one-day presentation skills training course for scientists at the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE).
Client: CRC CARE
Audience: Early-career scientists
Scientell trained a dozen early-career scientists at the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE) in Newcastle, NSW.
Presenting well is a skill needed in many areas of academia and business, yet many people find it daunting and have little experience. Audiences tend to judge both the work of presenters and their competence as well as the credentials of their university or employer by the professionalism of their presentations.
The course is tailored for technical and scientific presentations designed for a range of audiences. Participants received a course manual, obtained personalised support and advice, and received a certificate of completion.
The one-day course included development of the participants’ presentations, as well as recommendations on preparation prior to a talk, suggestions on developing structure and style, lots of advice and tips, hands-on experience and individual feedback.
