Scientell produced and designed a series of brochures presenting the latest regional climate change projections across 11 NSW regions and the ACT.
Client: NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
Audience: Decision-makers and managers across state and local governments, NGOs, community and environmental groups, NSW industries and businesses, members of the public.
In 2024, the NSW Government launched the NARCLIM2.0 project, an updated and more regionally specific set of climate change projections for NSW and ACT. NARCLIM2.0 integrates the latest available climate science to present information and data about plausible climate futures with more accuracy than ever before.
The data and information from NARCLIM2.0 were captured and communicated in a series of 24-page brochures that describe the projected climate for 11 NSW regions and the ACT. The brochures include information about observed and projected changes in average and extreme temperatures, rainfall, severe fire weather and sea-level rise, and include brief descriptions of likely regional impacts.
Scientell supported the department by advising on the brochure approach and editing the text for regional brochures to ensure it was consistent, clear and suitable for a decision-maker audience. In collaboration with the department, we co-developed infographics to represent complex scientific information and designed the brochures in an engaging and visual manner.
Scientell worked closely with the department to create clear text and graphics, select attractive images, and develop a compelling and engaging design, including infographics.
