Description
National Science Week is Australia’s major annual national celebration of science, with over 1,000 events nationwide. Over the years, Inspiring Australia has supported National Science Week events in various industries and organisations across Australia by providing a series of targeted resource packs containing compelling ideas, activities and suggestions on how to get involved.
Since 2018, Scientell has developed each annual pack as an attractive electronic booklet for distribution via social media and the web. Each pack contains a brief background on National Science Week, case studies, suggested activities, and resource links to help organisations run their own science-related events.
From activities on soil and slime, to coding classes and 3D printing, there are myriad ways for different organisations to be involved in a way that reflects their industry.
For each pack, we researched interesting examples of organisations that had previously run successful National Science Week events. We interviewed these event organisers to compile a collection of case studies to inspire selected industries and show the range of science-related activities that can be done. Throughout this process, we consulted with stakeholders in the target industry and Inspiring Australia coordinators to obtain advice and insights on the audience’s needs.
