Scientell edited a 100-page report explaining the findings of the Great Australian Bight Research Program, produced a brief glossy brochure based on the report, and wrote a series of voice-over scripts for videos.
Client: CSIRO and the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI).
Audience: Researchers, users of research, decision-makers, people with an interest in the coast.
Scientell developed scripts for half a dozen whiteboard style animation videos for the Great Australian Bight Research Program. This followed our editing of the program’s 100-page detailed report explaining the findings of the four-year, $20 million social, environmental and economic study of the Bight. We also produced a booklet summarising the program’s research findings from 2013 to 2017.
More than 85 per cent of known species in this unique marine environment are found nowhere else in the world. Prior to the Great Australian Bight Research Program, relatively little was known about the region.
Scientell translated technical language from the scientific report into accessible and lively language for the series of whiteboard animations, which tell a story through hand-drawn images.
